Vitamin C Flush Protocol (Brief Guide)
Use only under the supervision of a qualified and experienced healthcare professional.
Purpose:
A Vitamin C Flush helps rapidly saturate tissues with ascorbate, support detoxification, bowel motility, immune balance, and redox recovery. It may also help clear gut toxins, reduce microbial overload, and improve dysbiosis—especially when combined with a low-carb ketogenic diet and targeted probiotic supplementation.
🔹 Step 1 — Preparation
Use pure Vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate).
Start the flush first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach.
Stay near a bathroom and drink plenty of water.
🔹 Step 2 — Dosing Method
Mix 2 grams (2,000 mg) of Vitamin C powder in water.
Drink one dose every 15 minutes.
Continue repeating the 2-gram doses until you reach bowel tolerance—a sudden loose stool indicating full saturation.
Most people reach bowel tolerance between 10–20 grams, but this varies depending on stress, inflammation, and illness.
🔹 Step 3 — When to Stop
Once loose stool occurs, stop immediately.
Record the total grams taken—this reflects your body’s current need.
Resume normal supplementation (e.g., 3–10 g/day or as recommended).
🔹 Step 4 — Special Notes
Drink electrolytes or warm water afterward if needed.
Consult a physician if you have severe kidney disease, G6PD deficiency, or known oxalate issues.
Repeat the flush only as advised (commonly weekly or monthly).

Andrew Saul taught me this years ago when he led me to Linus Pauling’s work. Andy was a peer of mine here in western NY. Too soon gone. But he lives on in his creation of Orthomolecular News, and you Dr Chang.
What is the purpose of a regular flush? I was under the impression that the flush is just to test the tolerance/need and to take 75%-80% of the determined need daily, spread throughout the day.
